About Lethbridge: The city of Lethbridge is an ethnically diverse community of 67,00 located near the Canadian Rockies and just north of the Canada/United States border. The climate is moderate -- the summers are warm and dry, the winter chill is moderated by warm "Chinook" winds that blow from the mountains. Many historical and national parks are within 100 kilometers from Lethbridge. The University of Lethbridge offers a program for international students to help them with the transition to life in Lethbridge. The International Centre for Students Welcome Service costs $125 (CA) and ensures that the student will be picked up when he arrives in Lethbridge, will have a tour of the city, will be dropped off at campus housing, and will get a trip to a Lethbridge bank to take care of financial issues. Contact the ICS at least one week before arriving to take advantage of this service.
