Admission Eligibility

Admission of international students to Muskingum University is mainly determined by high school grades and test scores. Applications from international students seeking admission to the undergraduate program should be directed to the Director of International Admissions.  To be considered for admission, applicants must submit official results from an accepted test of English proficiency (the most commonly accepted are the TOEFL iBT and IELTS, and CEFR).   Students must obtain scores at the following level to be eligible for admission:

  • TOEFL iBT: 46 or higher
  • IELTS: 5.5 or higher
  • CEFR: B2 or higher.

Exceptions to the English proficiency test score requirement may be granted on an individual, case-by-case basis.  In lieu of an accepted test of English proficiency, applicants from Muskingum University’s affiliated partner institutions abroad must submit a formal written assessment from their school affirming English language proficiency at the appropriate level for degree study at Muskingum University.

Transfer students and graduates of junior colleges are also welcome. Please have your current university send an official transcript along with a course catalog. Your transcript will be carefully examined in order to transfer as many credits as possible. A nominal fee may be charged for credentials evaluation. Students are also welcome to pursue a second degree or to prepare for graduate programs (GMAT, GRE, prerequisite courses, etc.)
