Accepted Tests of English for International Student Applicants

To be considered for admission, applicants must submit official results from an accepted test of English proficiency (the most commonly accepted are the TOEFL iBT and IELTS, and CEFR). Students must obtain scores at the following level to be eligible for admission:

Name of Test Minimum Score Requirement
SAT 430 (Critical Reading subscore)
STEP Eiken Grade 1 - Pass

In lieu of an accepted test of English proficiency, applicants from Muskingum University’s affiliated partner institutions abroad must submit a formal written assessment from their school affirming English language proficiency at the appropriate level for degree study at Muskingum University.

Students who have attended specific high schools whose medium of instruction is English and which which Muskingum has had an ongoing relationship, may request a waiver of the requirement for a test of English language. Waiver requests will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Exceptions to the English proficiency test score requirement may be granted on an individual, case-by-case basis.
