Graduate Assistant – Graduate and Continuing Studies Office

Muskingum University is now accepting applications for a Graduate Assistant in the office of Graduate and Continuing Studies for a one-year, renewable assistantship.  This competitive position will be awarded based on the candidate’s undergraduate GPA (minimum 3.5) and an interview process.  The position requires 20 hours/week of support duty in the office of Graduate and Continuing Studies and fulltime enrollment in a graduate program.  The successful candidate must be detailed oriented, maintain a high-level of confidentiality and work well with staff and students. 

Compensation includes tuition and stipend benefits.  Candidate must hold a Bachelor's Degree, have an outstanding GPA, and qualify for admission into Muskingum University's graduate program.

Head Women's Lacrosse Coach

Muskingum University invites applications in the department of intercollegiate athletics for the full-time position of Head Women's Lacrosse Coach. Muskingum University is a Division III member of the NCAA and a member of the Ohio Athletic Conference. The successful candidate is responsible for the development, leadership, and administration of the women's lacrosse program. Responsibilities will include the recruitment and retention of student-athletes, scheduling, purchasing of equipment, inventories, making all travel and lodging arrangements, monitoring and nurturing student-athlete's academic and personal progress, and organization of the total program.

This position reports directly to the Director of Athletics and will include a secondary assignment dependent upon the successful candidate's credentials and expertise. Possible assignments would be athletic administration, teaching within the Health and Physical Education Department, game management, etc.

Admission Counselor

Muskingum University seeks applicants for a full-time Admission Counselor to assist students interested in Muskingum with their transition to the University.

  • Contact with prospective students through high school visits and college day and night programs in a selected geographic area.
  • Maintain contact with prospective at on-campus programs and through personal interviews.
  • Frequent and planned follow-up with applicants. Includes managing the applications from a specific geographic area, contact with high school counselors and applicants to complete files, reviewing files determine a student's academic ability, continued correspondence with the applicant - congratulation notes financial aid calls, friendly calls.
  • Review of completed applications in a specific geographic area to make appropriate admission decisions.
  • Coordination and supervision of selected office projects/functions as assigned.

Bachelor's degree required. Outgoing and sincere personality, ability to adapt to new and changing situations, willingness to work irregular and long hours and travel, ability to speak before groups, interest in counseling prospective students and a true dedication to private higher education.

Director of Compliance Equity and Risk Management

Muskingum University seeks dynamic and collaborative professionals for this full-time position. The Director will play a central role in creating an equitable learning environment conducive to the intellectual, social, and personal growth of students that is free from discrimination in any form. This position will lead all aspects of the University’s Title IX compliance requirements and work with the University CFO in other compliance efforts. Responsibilities of the position include

  • Develop and coordinate the delivery of campus-wide education, prevention, training, and outreach programming relating to non-discrimination;
  • Create and maintain a non-discrimination marketing campaign including hard copy and electronic educational resources, particularly as related to Section 504, Title VI and Title IX, but including all forms of discrimination;
  • Serve as an expert on civil rights and non-discrimination compliance including, but not limited to, Section 504, Title VI, and Title IX and provide consultation to senior officers as necessary;
  • Management of the investigation and disposition of all complaints related to Title IX;
  • Institutional monitoring and compliance assurance for Title IX and other regulations as needed;
  • Coordination of other University compliance efforts using technical and management expertise;
  • Coordination of University Risk Management.

Bachelor’s degree in related field required; Master’s Degree, J.D. or other relevant certification preferred. Prefer 5 years’ experience in higher education administration with 1 year in the area of Title IX, Compliance or Risk Management. Ability to interpret, communicate and implement academic policies and procedures in a clear and consistent manner. Ability to read, manage, analyze and interpret data.

This is a ten-month appointment. The employed Graduate Assistant will be issued a one-year contract renewable through completion of the degree being pursued. Candidate must have a Bachelor's Degree, intercollegiate college experience, and qualify for admission into Muskingum University's graduate program.

The position is under the direct supervision of the Director of Athletics and the Head Coach in Track & Field. Duties include assisting with all phases of the track program, plus any additional duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics. Successful candidate must have intercollegiate track and field experience.

This is a ten-month appointment which begins August 1, 2017. Position includes graduate school tuition remission for Muskingum University, monthly stipend, room and board. Candidate must have a Bachelor's degree and qualify for admission into Muskingum University's graduate school.

Part-Time Assistant Men's Lacrosse Coach
