Welcome to the Physical Plant


The Physical Plant Department has been charged with the maintenance and repair of the universities facilities and grounds. Each of our three divisions strives to provide the best service possible to the campus community. We appreciate your assistance in reporting areas or items in need of attention.

Physical Plant Office
The office coordinates the efforts of its three divisions. The office can be reached at 740-826-8160 during normal business hours, or by e-mail at pplant@muskingum.edu. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. For emergencies after hours contact the Campus Police at ext. 8155.

Building Mechanics Division
The mechanics division provides electrical, plumbing, mechanical, carpentry and other crafts services for the entire campus. At least one mechanic is on duty from 7:00 am to 5:30 pm Monday through Saturday whenever classes are in regular session.

Custodial Division
The custodial department is in charge of cleaning all Academic and Residence Buildings. Other services include: pest control, supply deliveries, event set-up & tear down, and furniture moving. Please note, all events and event set ups are scheduled through Aramark Campus Services All events must be scheduled through the Aramark Scheduling Office @ x8383. Please make arrangements for your event well in advance to ensure the best possible service.

Grounds Division
The Grounds Department is in charge of campus-wide grounds maintenance, including, mowing, snow removal, trash removal and preparation of outdoor athletic facilities. Use of outside sports facilities is scheduled through Aramark Campus Services scheduling.
