Services and Privileges Provided for Faculty and Staff
Identification Cards
Upon employment faculty and staff members will be issued at no cost identification cards for themselves and for the members of their immediate family. These cards grant free admission to most regular athletic contests and certain fine arts events, access to the College library collection and services and reduced rates for some public services.
Athletic Events
It is policy that the employee and spouse and children may attend most of the home athletic games without charge by showing the Identification Card.
Cultural Events
An annual program of concerts, art exhibits and lectures is available and many are free to the employee. Occasionally special groups or a speaker or event require a nominal admission fee.
Muskingum College Center For Child Development
The Muskingum College Center for Child Development provides a quality day care program, before and after school program, and a preschool program. The program makes use of campus opportunities and is available to employees and the public with competitive tuition costs and opportunities for early enrollment for staff and faculty.
Employee And Family Use Of Recreation Center Facilities
Full-time employees of Muskingum College are able to use campus recreation facilities free of charge.
Designated times and places are established by the health and physical education department with Athletic Director for use of the recreation facility by employees before work, during lunch hour, and immediately after work hours.
Fieldhouse
The College has purchased a corporate membership with The Fieldhouse in Zanesville which provides reduced costs for College employees. Contact the Office of Human Resources for details.
Art Works And Art Shows
The Louis O. Palmer Gallery, located in Johnson Hall, is home to many art shows, displays, and opportunities for purchase and employee enrichment. The permanent art collection numbering in the hundreds is displayed in various offices and the remainder of the collection is stored in Johnson Hall or registered in the Library archives.
Library Privileges
The Muskingum College Library is open to all College personnel and family members. Staff and faculty may avail themselves of all the services of the library at no cost by presenting the College identification card.
Muskingum College Wellness Center
The Wellness Center is provided as a service to students and is not available to employees. However, the Wellness Center facilitates free or at cost flu vaccines as available; maintains a Hepatitis B vaccine program; offers training to appropriate personnel regarding bloodborne pathogens and Universal Standard Precautions; and provides "sharps" containers and biohazard pick-ups for students.
Bookstore
Employees may purchase gifts, textbooks, personal reading selection, and clothing in the College book store along with a complete inventory of office needs and supplies.
The Bottom Of The Center (BOC)
Located on the first floor of the Student Faculty Center, the BOC is open to all personnel for snacks or lunch. In addition, vending machines for soft drinks and snacks are located in several of the main buildings.
Guests In The Dining Halls
Staff and faculty are encouraged to eat in the dining halls as another way of getting acquainted with and supporting students. Employees may pay at the door or purchase meals with their ID cards using Muskie Bucks which is a declining balance account one can establish in the Business Office.
Check Cashing
Muskingum College maintains a limited personal check cashing service for employees and students. This service is located in the Business Office in Montgomery Hall and is a free service.
Notary Public
One may call the Business Office to schedule an appointment with the Notary Public. There is no charge for this service.
Uniforms
Members of the custodial, grounds and maintenance staff and Campus Police are provided uniforms by the College at no cost to the employee.
Lost And Found
Money or articles found at Muskingum College are to be delivered to the Campus Police Office along with information regarding where it was found, and any name, address or telephone number that might be associated with the item.
Professional Travel
Through a program of partial subsidy for travel expenses, Muskingum College provides encouragement and substantial support foreligible faculty and staff to attend professional meetings
Parking
Free parking is provided to College employees. The paperwork for parking stickers is to be completed in the Office of Human Resources and parking stickers can be obtained in the Campus Police Office and attached to the rear window on the passengers side.
