Sport and Fitness Science Major

The Sport and Fitness major is designed for healthcare professionals with an associate of science degree who wish to obtain a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Sport and Fitness Science. The Bachelor of Science and clinical experience will enable candidates to successfully apply/obtain advanced certifications such as Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), and Certified Special Population Specialist (CSPS). This combination of credentials will prepare candidates for positions such as High School Strength and Conditioning Coach, Strength and Fitness Professional, or Strength and Conditioning Specialist in the sport and fitness industry at the community, medical, athletic and/or corporate levels. Professionals with a sport and fitness or exercise science background, and physical therapists assistants also often choose this major to continue on for a master’s in athletic training.
