Financial Aid Estimator for Entering Students family calculating expenses

If you would like to explore the affordability of a Muskingum College education, the Financial Aid Estimator service may provide the information you need. The Estimator is not an official application for financial aid - that comes later through the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) process. The Estimator is an optional service which will provide an accurate estimate of your potential financial aid eligibility and remaining out-of-pocket costs months before official financial aid results are known.

To participate in the Estimator service, Muskingum recommends that prospective students apply for admission to the College (please note that there is no admission application fee). Estimator results for admitted students will be more precise than for those who have not applied. Upon completion of the admission process and review of the Estimator materials, Muskingum will provide:

  • A listing of initial, non-need-based financial assistance from Muskingum College for which the student is eligible, including academic scholarships and awards of circumstance. Academic scholarship awards may be enhanced through performance in the on-campus scholarship program.
  • An estimate of need-based grant assistance from Muskingum College and federal/state programs.
  • An estimate of “self-help” assistance (loans and work-study) from all sources.
  • An approximation of bottom-line costs after all estimated financial assistance.

The Estimator service is straightforward and it’s free. To take advantage of this service, download The Estimator Form and Instructions. After printing the form, complete it, and submit it to the Muskingum College Office of Student Financial Services, 163 Stormont St., New Concord, OH 43762.

Note: Estimators will be processed only through December 31, 2007, after which students interested in need-based financial aid should file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). For information on how to file the FAFSA, please refer to the Need-Based Application Process.
