Minner was awarded the No. 1 seed in his weight class following his impressive 5-1 record in OAC dual meets. He opened the day at the championships with a 9-2 decision over Heidelberg College's Bryan Massong, who was seeded fourth. The win propelled Minner into the championship round against Ohio Northern University's Luke Miller, the second seed. Minner notched a hard-fought 3-2 decision against Miller to win 157-pound weight class and earn an automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Wrestling Championships in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, March 7-8.

With the pair of wins, Minner improved his season record to 31-11 and upped his career victory total to 81. Minner also was honored with All-OAC status for reaching the championship round.

Also leading the Muskies, who finished fifth in the seven-team field, was freshmen Adam Harris (165), Paul Jefferis (285), Chris Farrington (174) and Michael Halko (125).
