Track & Field honored with three Academic All-OAC selections
NEW CONCORD, OHIO, May 14, 2009 -
The Muskingum College track & field program was honored by the Ohio Athletic Conference by having senior Deanna Dobos, senior Princess Tarrance and junior Amy Adams (posthumously) all named Academic All-OAC.
Dobos, a psychology/sociology major, carries a 3.69 grade-point-average. She ranks 19th in NCAA Division III in the 400 hurdles with her NCAA Championships provisional and season-best time of 1:03.61 that she logged at the Allegheny College Gator Invitational. Dobos is the current school record holder in the 400 hurdles with her time of 1:02.73 that she logged in 2008 at the North Central College Last Chance Meet.
Tarrance, a history and international affairs major, carries a 3.72 grade-point-average. She garnered All-OAC accolades at the OAC Indoor Championships in the shot put and was an OAC Outdoor Championships qualifier. Tarrance was the meet champion in the shot put at the OAC Split Meet hosted by Baldwin-Wallace College.
Adams was a biology major and carried a 4.00 grade-point-average. She won the hammer throw competition at the Muskingum Outdoor Invitational and placed third in the event at the OAC Split Meet at Baldwin-Wallace. Adams also finished third in the exhibition hammer throw at the OAC Outdoor Championships.
