Addy hits career-best mark in pole vault to qualify for NCAA National Championships
NEW CONCORD, OHIO, May 18, 2012 - Muskingum University junior Chase Addy cleared 16-2 in the pole vault at the Augustana
Twilight Meet on Friday. The mark propelled him to 12th in the nation and a spot
in the NCAA Division III National Championships next weekend at Claremont Mudd-Scripps in California.
Addy's mark was a career-best and lifted him to first place at the twilight meet. This marks the second straight year that Addy has qualified for the national championships, where the top eight finishers in each event earn All-American accolades.
Junior Jeff Ickes finished second in the long jump with a leap of 22-11.75 and sophomore Alvin Taylor placed sixth in the 400-meter dash with a time of 49.22.
Sophomore Aaron Perkins rounded out the Muskie effort with an eighth place finish in the 200-meter dash with a time of 27.38.
