Hoyt and Hoying named OAC Players of the Week

NEW CONCORD, OHIO, April 17, 2006 - The Ohio Athletic Conference has announced that Muskingum College senior pitcher Erica Hoyt has been named OAC Softball Pitcher of the Week and Muskie sophomore catcher Kari Hoying has been named OAC Softball Hitter of the Week.

Hoyt went 2-0 last week with a 0.00 ERA in 12 innings of work. Hoyt allowed six hits, one walk and fanned 14 batters. She tossed a complete game three-hitter against the 11th-ranked Marietta College Pioneers and fired five innings of three-hit ball with six strikeouts against Ohio Northern University.

Hoying batted .571 last week with eight hits, including a double and three home runs. Hoying scored four runs and tallied seven RBI. She hit two home runs and had four RBI in game two against the Pioneers and blasted a two-run shot against the Polar Bears.
