Price, Heagen, Weppler and Query named Academic All-OAC
NEW CONCORD, OHIO, May 29, 2012 -
The Ohio Athletic Conference has announced that Muskingum University senior designated player/pitcher Ashley Price, senior outfielder Kristyn Heagen and junior infielder Jendy Weppler were named Academic All-OAC, while senior infielder Campbell Query was named Academic All-OAC Honorable Mention.
Price, a sociology/child & family studies major, batted .376 with 32 hits, 23 RBIs, 10 runs, seven doubles, one triple and one home run. She recorded a .419 on-base percentage. In the pitching circle, Price led the Muskies with a 9-3 record and 3.07 ERA. Earlier this tear, Price was honored with All-OAC and OAC Pitcher of the Week accolades.
Heagen, a education/math/biology major, batted .245 with 11 RBIs, three doubles, one triple and one home run during her injury-shortened senior season.
Weppler, a chemistry/molecular biology major, hit .265 with 16 runs, 10 RBIs and two triples. She was a perfect 7-for-7 in stolen base attempts.
Query, a psychology/sociology major, saw action in 14 games and registered a pair of sacrifice hits.
