NEW CONCORD, OHIO, February 25, 2008 - Fresh off their 10th straight Ohio Athletic Conference championship and 10th straight NCAA Regional appearance, Muskingum College will enter the 2008 season ranked 18th in the National Fastpitch Coaches Division III Top-25 Preseason Poll. [NFCA Division III Top 25 Poll]

Muskingum, under the guidance of Head Coach Donna Newberry, the all-time winningest coach in Division III history and member of the National Fastpitch Coaches Association Hall of Fame Class of 2008, has had the Muskies ranked in the national top-25 poll every week since 1999.

Muskingum continued its long-standing tradition of excellence in 2007 by once again winning the OAC regular season and tournament titles and appearing in NCAA postseason play. The Black & Magenta have captured 10 straight OAC titles and 17 overall conference championships.

On the national level, Muskingum ranked eighth in the nation in doubles per game (2.11), 10th in fielding percentage (.969), 18th in slugging percentage (.508) and 25th in win/loss percentage (.766).

Muskingum opens its season at the Rebel Games in Kissimmee, Florida, on March 2.
