Softball ranked 20th in NCAA Division III

NEW CONCORD, OHIO, April 17, 2008 - The Muskingum College softball team, on a current 19-game winning streak, was ranked 20th in the latest National Fastpitch Coaches Association Top 25 Poll. [NFCA Division III Top 25 Poll]

Muskingum is coming off two impressive road wins at 13th-ranked Mount Union College. The Muskies beat the Purple Raiders 7-2 and 9-1 to take over sole possession of first place in the Ohio Athletic Conference. The Muskies have outscored their opponents 145-38 and have smashed 19 home runs and 41 doubles during their current winning streak.

The Muskies, under the guidance of Head Coach Donna Newberry, the all-time winningest coach in Division III history and member of the National Fastpitch Coaches Association Hall of Fame Class of 2008, has had the Muskies ranked in the national top 25 poll every year since 1999.
