Coach Reilly sets all-time wins mark vs.
Otterbein
NEW CONCORD, OHIO, October 6, 2012 - Muskingum University Head Coach Seamus Reilly set the all-time career wins mark for men's soccer
at Muskingum following the Muskies' thrilling 2-1 (2OT) victory against Otterbein University Saturday afternoon in McConagha Stadium. [highlights on the MSN]
With the win, coach Reilly notched his 73rd career victory to surpass former coach Jim George. The Muskies will go for their second straight league win on Wednesday, October 10 when they host Marietta College. The game is slated for a 7:00 p.m. start and will be broadcast live on the Muskie Sports Network and feature Live Stats.
Freshman Austin Tourville lifted the Black & Magenta to the historic win when he found the back of the net in the 102nd minute off an assist from sophomore Eric Riley. The strike was the second of the year for Tourville who ended the outing with a team-best six shots.
The Muskies grabbed an early 1-0 lead in the seventh minute when senior Derik Craft headed in senior Nate Spain's throw in. The goal was the first of the season for Craft.
Otterbein tied the contest in the 15th minute on a tally by Aaric Milligan.
Muskingum ended the game with a 27-25 advantage in shots, while Otterbein held a 7-3 edge in corner kicks.
Muskingum senior keeper Hunter Huffman played every minute between the pipes and made four saves. Kyle Ripma made nine saves for Otterbein.
