Muskingum to host 2009 OAC Women's Golf Championships
NEW CONCORD, OHIO, April 22, 2009 - Muskingum College will host the 2009 Ohio Athletic Conference Women's Golf Championships on Saturday-Sunday, April 25-26, at River Greens Golf Course in West Lafayette, Ohio. [Course Web Site]
Eight schools will look to dethrone 2008 champion Otterbein College from the top spot. The Cardinals have won five of the last last six OAC Tournament titles. Otterbein defeated runner-up Ohio Northern University by 18 strokes (689-707).
John Carroll's Amanda Shannon was the 2008 OAC Tournament medalist after firing a two-day, 17-over-par, 161. Shannon shot a six-over par-78 on the second day to secure her win. She was the first-ever Blue Streak to win Tournament medalist honors.
The All-OAC teams will be voted on by the League coaches and will consist of 15 members, with five on the first team, five on the second team and five receiving honorable mention.
Tee times begin at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday and 9:00 a.m. on Sunday.
