Shaffer named Academic All-OAC

NEW CONCORD, OHIO - Muskingum College senior Matt Shaffer has been named Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference.

Shaffer, a Business major, carries a 3.86 grade-point-average. Earlier this year he was honored with the OAC Clyde Lamb Award. Criteria for the award include at least two years participation in an OAC-sponsored sport, senior status, a minimum grade point average of 3.00 and sportsmanlike conduct in a manner that has brought credit to the student-athlete and his or her institution.

Shaffer anchored the men's golf team and was recognized earlier this season as the OAC Men’s Golfer of the Week following his impressive play at the Muskingum Spring Invitational at EagleSticks Golf Club. Furthermore, he was named All-OAC after finishing fourth at the OAC Championships at Cumberland Trail Golf Course in Pataskla, Ohio.
