Muskies have seven players honored with All-OAC accolades

NEW CONCORD, OHIO, November 19, 2012 - The Muskingum University football team was honored by the Ohio Athletic Conference on Monday by having seven members of the team named All-OAC. Senior punter Danny Snively and junior offensive lineman Denny Ardman were named First Team All-OAC, while junior wide receiver James Washington, senior defensive back Stephen Davis and senior defensive lineman Steve Stooksbury were named Second Team All-OAC. The senior defensive linemen tandem of Logan Ladd and Jake Antolak were named All-OAC Honorable Mention.

Snively led the league with a career-best 39.6 yards punting average, which also ranked 22nd in the nation. He booted 18 punts inside the 20 and had a long punt of 66 yards.

Ardman helped anchor the Muskie offensive line. He helped the Muskies average 130.3 yards rushing per game and average 285.2 yards of total offense per game. This marks the second straight year that Ardman has been named All-OAC.

Washington led Muskingum with 43 receptions for 666 yards and eight touchdowns. He ranked second in the league in touchdown receptions, seventh in receiving yards per game and eighth in receptions per game. Washington's 666 receiving yards ranks fourth all-time at Muskingum for a season. He will enter his senior year ranked third all-time at Muskingum with 1,523 receiving yards. This marks the second straight year that Washington has been honored with all-league honors.

Davis led the Ohio Athletic Conference in passes defended with 14 and ranked third in the league with four interceptions, including two he returned for touchdowns. On the season, Davis notched 17 tackles and forced one fumble. He also led the conference in kick returns with a 21.8 yards per kick return average. His 601 kickoff return yards ranks third all-time at Muskingum for a season and his 1,125 career kickoff return yards ranks eighth all-time at Muskingum.

Stooksbury ranked third on the team with 39 tackles, with 2.5 tackles for loss. He also recovered two fumbles and forced one fumble.  This marks the second straight year that Stooksbury has been named All-OAC.

Ladd had 32 stops with 5.5 tackles for loss and one sack. He also added two forced fumbles, recovered one fumble and blocked one kick.

Antolak ended the campaign with 27 hits with 5.5 tackles for loss and one sack. He also forced one fumble.
