Spitzer named OAC Baseball Hitter of the Week

NEW CONCORD, OHIO, May 3, 2010 - Muskingum University junior Erik Spitzer was honored for his play last week by being named the Ohio Athletic Conference Baseball Hitter of the Week on Monday.

Spitzer, who hit a blistering .700 (7-of-10), ended the week with five RBIs, three doubles and three runs scored. He registered a 1.000 slugging percentage and helped lead the Muskies to a key OAC doubleheader sweep at Capital University.

This marks the second straight week that a Muskingum player has been recognized as the league hitter of the week. Senior Brock Whiteman received the distinction April 26.
