Mission Statement
Muskingum University’s interdisciplinary journalism major, which is designed for students interested in careers in broadcast, print, or digital media, prepares students to lead vocationally-productive and personally-satisfying lives as journalists. Journalism students gain hands-on skills by taking journalism classes, working for campus media, and reporting on local events and issues. They are also required to have two internships, which provide real-world journalism and media experience. Muskingum’s unique program prepares students to enter the rapidly-changing field of twenty-first century journalism by teaching them how to think critically and to report, research, interview and tell stories in a variety of media.
