Major Areas of Study: INTERDISCIPLINARY
Muskingum University offers the opportunity for interdisciplinary studies which draw on the offerings of various departments. The student has two options: established interdisciplinary majors or self-designed majors.
Established Interdisciplinary Majors

- American Studies
- Child and Family Studies
- Conservation Science
- Criminal Justice
- Environmental Science
- Humanities
- International Affairs
- International Business
- Journalism
- Molecular Biology
- Neuroscience
- Public Affairs
Self-Designed Majors
- Must encompass work from at least three departments and consist of no fewer than 40 and no more than 60 credit hours, with a limit of 30 hours in any one department.
- The self-designed major requires curriculum committee approval and advanced consultation with and endorsement by the advising faculty and department chairs from the participating disciplines.
