Major Areas of Study: EDUCATION

After Graduation

Most of our students do become teachers and school administrators—more than 90% of the alumni surveyed in the past five years are working in school-related jobs.  A significant number are serving in a special educational capacity.

Many education graduates continue immediately with graduate studies at Muskingum College or at other institutions in the area in which they locate. Virtually all graduates who plan to continue in teaching positions pursue graduate work within five years.

PRAXIS

Within three years of graduation, 96% of our recent graduates have passed PRAXIS II, the series of tests required for provisional teacher licensure in Ohio. Since its inception in 2002, 100% of our recent graduates have passed PRAXIS III, the performance assessment required by Ohio for professional licensure.
