May Term: May 12 - June 6, 2008
Admission
Students planning to attend Muskingum College during the May Term must be accepted for admission or readmission if not currently enrolled at Muskingum College. For information, contact the Office of Admissions at (740) 826-8137. The application for non-degree seeking students is available as a PDF file.
Living Arrangements, Parking, and Meals
Residential townhouses with limited kitchen facilities are available for the term. Housing costs are to be determined. Students may cook their meals or purchase breakfasts and lunches at the snack bar. Student parking is conveniently available in designated commuter or residential lots. Students who would like to request housing during May Term should contact Student Life at ext. 8080.
Registration
Registration for May Term begins on Tuesday, January 22, 2008. Students may search for May Term classes using MuskieLink. Registration forms maybe picked up in the Registrar's Office. Registration and payment may also be sent by mail. Registration will continue through May 12; early registration is encouraged. Decisions will be made on whether or not a class will be offered based on course enrollments as of April 30.
Before registering for courses, students should refer to the course descriptions in the College Catalog to see if they have met the prerequisite.
Students should check their registration status on MuskieLink after turning in their registration forms to the Registrar's Office.
Course Load
Students may take two 3-4 credit courses and a 1 credit physical education course or psychology practicum and one independent study course. Students have until August 25 to complete independent study courses.
Tuition
Tuition is $340 per credit. For an early commitment (i.e. registering and completing financial arrangements) by April 1, you will receive a 10% discount on tuition.
Tuition payments or financial aid arrangements (verified by Student Financial Services) and submission of the May Term application must be done to complete registration. Contact the Student Accounts Manager at (740) 826-8118 for further information. The tuition discount applies only to courses listed in this brochure.
Financial Aid
Students who enroll for at least 6 credits during May Term may be eligible for financial assistance, usually in the form of student loans. Students wishing to take advantage of the early commitment to receive a tuition discount must have made arrangements for financial aid by April 1. Grades and Credit Hours
Grades are assigned according to a scale ranging from A (4.00) to F (0.00). Other grades are WIP (work in progress), I (incomplete), S (satisfactory, C or above), U (unsatisfactory, C- or below), and W (withdrawn). Academic credit is expressed in terms of semester hours. [One semester hour equals 1.67 quarter hours.] Grades will be transcripted in late June; grade reports will be mailed to the student's address of record unless otherwise requested.
Course Add/Drop/Refund Policy
Students may make changes to their registration through the end of the first class day, May 12, by submitting an Add/Drop Form to the Registrar's Office. A full tuition refund is given through May 12 for a course drop.
Course Withdrawal/Grading Policy/Refund Policy
A student may withdraw from a course through the 13th class day, May 29, by submitting a Course Withdrawal Form to the Registrar's Office. A grade of 'W' will be assigned for a course withdrawal; after May 29rd a grade of 'F' will be assigned. There is no tuition refund for a course withdrawals.
Withdrawal from May Term/Refund Policy
If a student withdraws from all enrollment for May Term, the withdrawal date will be the date the Withdrawal Form is submitted to the Registrar or the last date of documented class attendance. Tuition will be refunded as follows: May 12, 13 100%; May 14, 15, 75%; May 16, 50%; after May 16, no refund.
Transcripts
Official copies of Muskingum College transcripts are sent upon the student's written request. Requests are made through the Registrar's Office by completion of a transcript request form or letter; the signature of the student is required for a transcript to be released. Transcripts are not released for students with overdue College accounts.
