Assistant Professor of Music (Voice)

The Department of Music at Muskingum University invites applications for a full-time limited-term (renewable) faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor, beginning the fall semester of 2016. Primary teaching areas will include applied voice, diction, and pedagogy.  Secondary teaching responsibilities will be selected from the candidate's areas of expertise, with preference given to candidates with experience in musical theatre, music education, choral conducting, and/or collaborative piano.  Other responsibilities will include academic advising and university committee assignments. 

Qualifications: D.M.A. or Ph.D. (ABD considered) in music with demonstrated teaching and performance abilities.  Teaching experience at the collegiate level is preferred.  The successful candidate will possess a strong commitment to the principles of an undergraduate liberal arts education, interest in and evidence of collaboration with fellow faculty artists, and a spirit of collegiality and cooperation.

EDUCATION

Assistant Professor of Health and Physical Education

The Department of Education at Muskingum University invites applications for a full-time, limited term (renewable) faculty position in Health and Physical Education at the Assistant Professor level beginning fall semester 2016. The position requires teaching in the undergraduate and graduate teacher preparation programs, fieldwork supervision, advising of licensure candidates, and actively engaging in university and community service.  Faculty load includes courses in professional education and health and physical education with a focus on the preparation of candidates to teach health and physical education in grades PK-12.

Qualifications: Minimum requirements are PK-12 certification/licensure in health and physical education, PK-12 teaching experience in health and physical education, and possession of a doctorate that included planned studies in health and physical education.
