(Click the logo for more information.)

All of Muskingum University's science majors and programs are designed to educate the whole person. Our committed faculty strive to give students critical thinking skills and breadth of knowledge as well as scientific knowledge.

The emphasis on student research enables Muskingum's science students to apply scientific processes to everyday life experiences, preparing them for success in the areas of business, education, industry, and research. Muskingum has connections to STEMM businesses for student co-ops and internships. Examples of these businesses include AMG Vanadium, Cerner, Genesis Healthcare System, Marietta Memorial Hospital, Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center, Coshocton County Memorial Hospital, Colgate-Palmolive, Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus, and the Muskingum County Business Incubator. Our students have also done research and internships at The Wilds, one of the largest wildlife conservation centers in the world located on 10,000 acres here in southeast Ohio.

Muskingum has recently added a new major, Petroleum Geology, designed for students interested in entering the energy industry. The institution also offers a four-year Engineering Science program that draws on the University's commitment to liberal arts as well as it's national reputation for excellence in science. Our four-year bachelor of science Nursing program combines the liberal arts with a structured nursing curriculum to build a comprehensive BSN experience.

Choose Ohio First Scholarship Program at Muskingum University

Muskingum University’s COF program’s activities center on performing science outreach and providing supplemental educational opportunities.  The work we have done spans elementary, intermediate, high school, and higher education students.  Our goal is to provide science learning experiences at each step along the student’s k-16 journey.  We strive to help them see the value of a STEMM career and assist in providing them with the tools necessary to succeed in the achievement of that.  In addition to these efforts, another component of our program is dedicated to non-traditional students seeking professional development and advancement in a STEMM field.  Our COF program has included RN-to-BSN nursing students since its inception and has recently expanded to provide opportunities in other medicinally related fields.
