Sophomore Level Nursing Laboratory Technician
Additional qualifications
- Must be a sophomore in the Nursing curriculum
- Have a GPA Accum > 3.0
- Have a recommendation from Mrs. Miller. This may be an e-mail to Dr. Haynes supporting your consideration for the position.
- Be available for 10 hours/week for 14 weeks both fall and spring semester. (a total of 140 contact hours each semester)
Job description—Soph. Lab Tech
- Works under the direct supervision of the Laboratory Coordinator for Nursing.
- At no time is this person considered in a primary teaching role with peers. This is always referred to the faculty.
- Provides technical support at the direction of faculty in the setup and maintenance of the lab.
- Provides support to students in acquiring equipment and supplies for lab practice.
- Provides support for the faculty under their guidance.
- Manages open lab hours at the direction of the Lab Manager in order for student practice.
- Maintains the security of the lab and its contents during open lab hours.
- Is self-directed in managing and reporting hours to the Lab Coordinator or her designee.
Requirement:
Student employee will be required to sign a confidentiality agreement for both FERPA and HIIPA.
Junior Level Nursing Laboratory Technician

Additional qualifications
- Must be a junior in the Nursing curriculum
- Have a GPA Accum > 3.3 and B or better in all Nursing Courses at the Sophomore Level.
- Have a recommendation from Mrs. Roberts. This may be an e-mail to Dr. Haynes supporting your consideration for the position.
- Be available for 7.8 hours/week for 14 weeks both fall and spring semester. (a total of 109 contact hours each semester)
Job description – Junior Nursing Tutor
- Provide tutoring support for students enrolled in NURS 220, 230 and 250 of the sophomore level. This is not to be more than 2 students at a time.
- Be self-directed in managing scheduling and submission of work hours to the Departmental
Secretary.
- Students will be referred to the tutor by either the Faculty of the designated courses or by the Departmental Secretary.
- Develop an approved record keeping process to track students, topics, courses, and hours spent in tutoring
