Boda named First Team All-Central Region
NEW CONCORD, OHIO, May 12, 2011 -
Muskingum University senior first baseman Mary Margaret Boda was named First Team All-Central Region by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association.
Boda, a two-time Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division III All-American and four-year All-OAC honoree, led the Muskies in batting average (.447), doubles (14), slugging percentage (.691), on-base percentage (.544) and walks (16). She was second on the team with 42 hits and 23 RBIs. Boda ended the season with three home runs and 17 runs scored.
Throughout her outstanding career, Boda has helped lead the Muskies to three OAC
Tournaments, one OAC Championship, one NCAA Regional Softball title and one NCAA
World Series appearance. She was recognized her freshman year with the William
F. Lange Outstanding Freshman Award and this year with the Barbara Steiner Outstanding Senior Female Athlete Award.
With her selection to the all-region first team, Boda now moves on to the Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division III All-American ballot where she will attempt to become just the third Muskie ever in the history of the softball program to be named All-American three times.
