Mickey garners All-OAC honors to help lead Muskies to third place finish at OAC Championships
NEW CONCORD, OHIO, May 2, 2009 - The Muskingum College men's golf team captured third place in the Ohio Athletic Conference Championships after posting a two-day total of 655 (341-314) at New Albany Country Club on Thursday and Friday.

Muskingum was led by sophomore J.J. Mickey, who tied for fourth place in the 44-player field to garner All-OAC honors with his score of 158 (84-74). Sophomore Travis Roberts (83-83) and freshman Jourdon Leymon (88-78) finished tied for 15th after shooting 166 over the course of the tournament. Freshman Joel Ardner shot 167 (86-81), which was good for 20th, while junior Josh Colyer added a 169 (88-81) to finish 24th in the event.
Otterbein College took the OAC title home after posting a total score of 639 (327-312). Zack Koinis of Heidelberg University captured medalist honors for the second straight year with his score of 150 (74-76).
With the conclusion of the tournament, Muskingum ends a very successful spring season, which saw them finish as high as second during the Muskingum College Invitational. The Muskies return to the course next season, where they will look to improve and challenge again for the OAC title.
