Abbott and Howard garner OAC Player of the Week honors
NEW CONCORD, OHIO, October 31, 2005 - The Ohio Athletic Conference has announced that senior defensive back Tony Abbott has been named the OAC Defensive Player of the Week and that junior halfback Steve Howard has been named OAC Special Teams Player of the Week.
Abbott picked off a pair of Heidelberg passes and recorded five tackles (four solo) in the Muskies win last weekend. Abbott has a team-leading five interceptions on the year.
Howard returned a kickoff 96 yards for a touchdown to jumpstart the Muskies to its first lead of the game against Heidelberg. The 96-yard return was the second longest in school history. Howard also rushed for a season-high 132 yards on 10 carries and added a pair of touchdowns.
