Thomas and Ardman named MVP's and Moore garners Coaches Award

NEW CONCORD, OHIO, November 17, 2011 - The Muskingum University football coaching staff has announced that senior linebacker Alex Thomas and sophomore offensive lineman Denny Ardman were named Most Valuable Players for the 2011 season, while senior long snapper Jacob Moore received the Coaches Award.

Thomas led the Muskies this season in tackles with 116 and recorded nine tackles for loss with four sacks and an interception. The talented Canton native ranked first in the Ohio Athletic Conference in tackles and ranked 13th in the nation for tackles and 17th with 66 solo stops. The Muskie linebacker ranks fifth all-time for tackles in a single season (116) and fourth all-time in career tackles with 303.

Ardman was the anchor of the Muskie offensive line this season. Ardman helped the Muskies average 115 yards rushing per game and average 292.9 yards of total offense per game. He also contributed on the kickoff return team.

Moore received the Coaches Award for the 2011 season. Moore was the Muskies' starting long snapper and was a four-year member of the team. Additionally, he added five tackles on special teams.
