McKenzie named 2nd Team ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District IV
NEW CONCORD, OHIO, February 5, 2009 - Muskingum College senior post Jessica McKenzie was named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District IV Women's Basketball Second Team on by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
McKenzie, the seventh all-time leading scorer in Muskingum women's basketball history with 1,237 points, leads the Ohio Athletic Conference in field goal shooting percentage (.553) and rebounds per game (11.3 rpg) and ranks fourth in scoring (17.8 ppg). She has recorded 12 double-doubles (points/rebounds) this season and was honored earlier this year with back-to-back weeks of national recognition on the D3hoops.com National Women's Basketball Team of the Week.
ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District teams are voted on by members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) within their respective district. District IV consists of member schools in the states of Kentucky, Ohio, Michigan, Tennessee and Alabama. In order to be eligible for nomination, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore, hold a 3.30 cumulative grade point average and be a starter or key reserve.
