Martin named assistant women's basketball coach
NEW CONCORD, OHIO, August 7, 2008 -
Muskingum College has announced that former Zanesville High School All-American Seth Martin has been named assistant women’s basketball coach and head women’s golf coach.
Martin, a member of the 1995 Blue Devil State Championship basketball team and all-time leading rebounder and second leading scorer in Zanesville history, arrives in New Concord with a wealth of coaching experience. He previously served as the first assistant coach at NCAA Division II Slippery Rock University (Pa.) and assistant coach at NCAA Division II Shippensburg University (Pa.).
While at Slippery Rock, he worked as the recruiting coordinator, strength and conditioning coach, academic advisor and prepared daily practice plans. At Shippensburg, Martin helped coach the 2005-06 Raiders to their most successful season in school history and served as strength and conditioning coach and academic advisor for post players.
Additionally, Martin has worked as a basketball camp counselor at the University of Michigan, Eastern Michigan University and at California University of Pennsylvania.
Martin, a former Street & Smith First Team All-American in college, received his bachelor’s degree from California (Pa.) in 2002. He ended his playing days for the Vulcans ranked 10th all-time in scoring with 1,459 career points.
His other duties at Muskingum will include serving as an instructor in the college’s Health and Physical Education department.
