Whiteman named Second Team All-Mid East Region
NEW CONCORD, OHIO, May 26, 2010 - The Muskingum University baseball team was honored by the American Baseball Coaches Association with the announcement that senior All-American catcher Brock Whiteman has been named Second Team ABCA All-Mid East Region.
Whiteman, the all-time career hits leader at Muskingum, was the first-ever Muskie to receive the Jack Rafeld OAC Baseball Player of the Year Award. He is a four-time All-OAC honoree, three-time Academic All-OAC selection and a three-time OAC Baseball Hitter of the Week. Whiteman started his career at Muskingum being named the William F. Lange Outstanding Freshman male athlete and ended his tenure being recognized as the William G. Moore Outstanding Senior male athlete.
Whiteman ended his storied Muskingum career ranked first in career hits with 222, second in career RBIs with 176, second in career home runs with 33, second in career doubles with 47, second in career at-bats with 572, third in career batting average (.388), third in runs scored (144) and third in triples (9).
