Major Requirements (37 credit hours)

  • ART 112, 120, 121, 131, 151, 170, 212, 241, 490
  • Two courses from ART 350, 351, 352
  • One course from ART 321, 331, 370, 412 or 441
  • One ART elective
  • Portfolio for acceptance into major program
  • One to three pieces may be retained as part of the student section of the Permanent Art Collection
  • Completion of Junior Year Review prior to the Senior Capstone Review*

    * Capstone experience requirements:
    • Electronic portfolio development
    • Art related writings
    • Development of inter-disciplinary art
    • Development of inter-cultural diversity art
    • Development of technology related to art

Minor Requirements (15 hours)

  • ART 112, 121, 151, 170
  • Electives (three additional hours of ART electives)

Teacher Licensure Requirements

  • Multi-age visual arts, ages three through twelfth grade.
  • Contact the Education department for specific course requirements.
