MATHEMATICS

The department of mathematics provides tutoring (free of charge) for all students enrolled in lower level mathematics courses. Tutors are junior and senior level mathematics majors. Math tutoring is in SC 229 from  7:00 - 8:30 pm Sunday through Thursday. No appointment is needed. The schedule of tutors is given below.

COMPUTER SCIENCE

The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science provides (free of charge) tutoring to students of Computer
Science 111 and 211.  Tutoring for COMPUTER SCIENCE is on Tuesdays from 6:00 to 9:00. Tutors are in BSC 229. Help is provided in:
 

•        understanding the problem you are trying to solve
•        overcoming roadblocks in developing a solution
•        answering questions about programming language features
•        use of programming environments (e.g. JBuilder or JDK)
•        debugging programs

Students should not expect tutors to write substantial amounts of code for them, nor to lead them through the
entire solution.  Students feeling they need that level of assistance should first see their instructor.
