Course Objective/Description:

 

The objective of this course is to explain the basic concepts in human biology and see how they relate to common human diseases/disorders.  In that endeavor, students will learn the basic human anatomy and physiology of select topics.  In addition, students taking this course will be able to discuss/present relevant topics during the semester.

 

 

 

Textbook:  Human Biology, Concepts & Current Issues 4th ed., Michael D. Johnson, Benjamin Cummings, San Francisco, CA.

Grading:

 

There will be a total of four criteria that will constitute your grade.  First, you must attend the lectures.  Second, there will be four exams during the semester.  Third, there will be a group presentation on a scheduled date.  Finally, there is a participation component to the course. 

 

Attendance Policy: Your attendance is mandatory and missing more than 1 unexcused absence will result in the reduction of your grade by a half letter grade i.e. (B to B-).
