Sr. year)
Electives:
At most, one course selected from Environmental Science 121, 421; Molecular
Biology 211, 411; Conservation Science 231, 431; or Neuroscience 201; remaining
credit hour requirements from remaining biology courses at the 200 level
or above, including Conservation Science 331 and Neuroscience 386.
Note: If you plan on doing biological research (421-422), biology
420 must be completed during your junior year. Students
interested in doing research should also seek out and talk to a potential
advising professor during the fall of your
junior year.
Also note that if you took one of the Biology 105 issues courses designed
for non-science majors, it may count for 2
hours toward the 46 hour biology major.
Minor: 19 hours of departmental courses. Requirements: 111,
112, 107 (twice), 226 and a minimum of eight
additional credit hours from course at the 200 level or higher (interdisciplinary
courses will not count for the minor).
Teacher Licensure - life sciences or integrated science,
grades 7-12. Contact the education department for specific
course requirements.
Additional Courses Recommended for Biology Majors:
Organic Chemistry (211, 212)
Introductory Physics (101/102 or 121/122)
Calculus (1 semester)
Computer Science (1 semester)
Statistics (1 semester)
